MEET MELANIE

Licensed Therapist. Multi-certified Coach. Depth that moves as fast as you do.

Learn about Executive High Performer Coach, Melanie Shmois, with blonde wavy hair wearing a blue striped button-up shirt and light blue jeans, standing against a black background, smiling softly.

Melanie Shmois, LISW-S, is a licensed therapist and multi-certified coach with 20+ years of experience. The kind of depth most coaches simply don't have. Her client roster has included corporate executives, professional athletes, and film producers alongside the entrepreneurs and high-achievers she works with today: people who've already built real success and are ready to feel as strong on the inside as they perform on the outside.

In 2017, she left a thriving private practice to build something more direct: coaching that moves as fast and precisely as the people she works with need it to. As founder of Mind Your Strength Coaching, she's spent the years since helping high-achievers close the gap between performance and fulfillment, not through generic frameworks, but through a clinical foundation most coaches never had to begin with.

She's tested every technique she teaches on herself first.

Where I Recalibrate

Cleveland is home, where Melanie lives with her husband, two daughters, and a Boston Terrier. When she's not coaching, she's usually at a local workout studio, biohacking, or wherever Cleveland's mental health and wellness community is showing up that week.

Melanie Shmois with blonde hair styled in loose waves, wearing earrings and a white blouse with lace detailing, sits on a wicker chair with a wooden floor and white wall in the background. She is smiling gently and looking slightly to her right.

The Human Element

  • My Starbucks order is tall, dark roast, red eye with steamed heavy cream.

  • I don't feel like I sit down.

  • If there’s a coaching video and best practice exercise, I’ve probably seen it and applied it to my clients.

  • If there's a workout, I've likely tried it.

  • I'm emotional, but mainly on the inside.

  • My go-to mindless TV shows usually involve murder mysteries, and podcasts, outside of coaching ones, are typically unsolved mysteries. Go figure.

  • I lose my socks all the time.

  • My two daughters are my pride and joy.

  • I never got seasick fishing for halibut deep in the Gulf of Alaska. My husband, on the other hand…

  • I believe that the impossible is temporary.

  • I was held up at gunpoint while working as a bank teller in college. I want to be able to say that the robber didn't get away with it.

Most people stop short of what they're actually capable of. This is where that changes.
