The Feminine Power of Feeding Yourself

The Feminine Power of Feeding Yourself Blog Post by Melanie Shmois

The other day, I was on a call with a long-time client a high-powered businesswoman with more plates spinning than most of us could imagine. Over the last year, she’s been committed to slowing down, creating more space, and actually enjoying the life she’s worked so hard to build.

During our call, we were talking about her daily routines when I said something that made her stop in her tracks. In fact, she asked me to repeat it three times.

I told her:

“Nourishment — how you feed yourself — is a feminine energy activity.”

And in that moment, she realized she had been overlooking one of the simplest, yet most profound ways to connect with her feminine energy: feeding herself well.

For years, her pattern had been:

  • Rushing out the door without breakfast.

  • Grabbing a protein bar between meetings.

  • Realizing by early afternoon that she was starving… but had no plan for lunch.

Her career and clients always came first. Feeding herself was an afterthought.

But once she saw nourishment through the lens of feminine energy — as an act of receiving food, energy, and care — everything shifted. She realized that preparing and enjoying food could be a daily ritual of slowing down, receiving, and honoring her body.

The very next day, she went to her favorite grocery store. She picked out foods she truly loved — not just what was quick or convenient — and started making herself beautiful, nourishing lunches.

It wasn’t just about the food. It was about the energy.

If you’re a busy professional, I know how easy it is to put yourself last on the list. You might forget to pack lunch, or eat at your desk without even tasting your food. You might convince yourself that you don’t have time for a proper meal.

But here’s the truth: You deserve to be nourished each and every day.

And that nourishment can be a higher priority than half the items on your to-do list. Because when you’re well-fed and energized, you show up as your best self — in your work, your relationships, and your life.

So this week, I invite you to treat nourishment as a feminine energy practice. Feed yourself like you matter. Because you do.

If slowing down to nourish yourself feels unfamiliar but you know you’re craving more ease, energy, and presence, this is exactly the kind of shift we can create together.
