I think many people assume that self-love is all warm and cuddly filled with bubble baths and cheesy affirmations. When I work with clients, we really try to foster what I call “fierce self-love”.

For years as a therapist and now as a coach I frequently ask my clients the quintessential “How does that feel?” question.

Fear is outdated
For millions of years, fear was arguably our most important emotion. Our survival depended on it. When faced with a life -threatening danger like a saber-toothed tiger, or grizzly bear, our brain triggered this powerful emotion in the form of our fight or flight response to protect us.
