Taking risks and sea otters
Most of my life I played it safe. I didn’t raise my hand in class as a kid unless I knew for sure I knew the answer so I wouldn’t get embarrassed if I was wrong. I only tried out for sports and activities that I was somewhat good at, I only socialized with people that I was already comfortable around.

Chasing shiny new things
A subtle yet sabotaging tendency that I have uncovered in myself and in many of my clients is the urge to continually start something new.

Being willing to be wrong about it
Many of us are hurting ourselves with our own painful stories about what the people in our lives did or didn’t do that we believe is unfair or unjust.

4 acts of fierce self-love
I think many people assume that self-love is all warm and cuddly filled with bubble baths and cheesy affirmations. When I work with clients, we really try to foster what I call “fierce self-love”.

Inspired action
For years as a therapist and now as a coach I frequently ask my clients the quintessential “How does that feel?” question.
