A Labor Day Message-{Purpose & Recognition}
Established in 1894, Labor Day pays tribute to the achievements and dedication of American workers. Fast forward 125 years, and for many of us today, it signals the end of wearing white shorts, going to the pool, and the end of summer in general.

School is back in session
I love seeing all the social media pics of children going back to school. From the grade school cuties holding up their signs, to the dorm room pics of college kids decorating their rooms. New, but familiar life steps has me considering the range of emotions the students and parents feel.

Complaining is working against you
All of us complain. Many of us do it and don’t even realize it. But I want to show you today is that even though sometimes in the moment it feels good to complain, it often makes things worse.

Taking risks and sea otters
Most of my life I played it safe. I didn’t raise my hand in class as a kid unless I knew for sure I knew the answer so I wouldn’t get embarrassed if I was wrong. I only tried out for sports and activities that I was somewhat good at, I only socialized with people that I was already comfortable around.

Chasing shiny new things
A subtle yet sabotaging tendency that I have uncovered in myself and in many of my clients is the urge to continually start something new.
